Of course one of my favorite things to do is shop but if I’m shopping for a cause, it’s makes me even more happy to bring it home and share it with my friends and family.
Noonday Collection was founded by Jessica Honegger after visiting Uganda in 2010 and deciding to adopt her son from Rwanda. During her trip she was asked to bring back fair-trade handmade goods from Uganda to help raise money for her own costly adoption, while also helping give Ugandan citizens a sustainable income. It was a win-win and the Noonday Collection was born. Today you can shop online or through in-home trunk shows to help benefit orphans in these countries, as the company gives 10 percent goes back to orphan care and prevention because the artisans are paid upfront for their handiworks. Noonday carries products that are made in fair-trade practice from artisans around the world including the United States, Uganda, Peru, Ethiopia, Ecuador and Guatemala. The jewelry, home goods like journals and trays and the bags and clutches are truly unique in the way they’re made and how they find a way into your home. I know what I’ll be doing this weekend, shopping for a cause and getting a few pieces of fantastic jewelry while doing it. To view the entire Noonday Collection, visit
