Blazing into fallSure, there’s nothing new about colorful denim in general. It has shown up all over for women and girls for the past several season. What is different for fall 2012, though, is the fact that brightly-colored jeans are trending for boys. Skinny or straight, you can’t go wrong with a style in fall’s muted reds, mustard yellow or even vibrant turquoise. Pair them with chukka boots and a sweater and it looks uber-preppy. But it’s not a trend that applies only to kids who prefer a preppy aesthetic. With sneakers and layered tees and hoodies, it easily morphs into skater-cool or punk. Just keep the silhouette slim and you’ll have a look they’ll love right through winter.
